Situated in the village of Bowmore, backing onto Loch Indaal with magnificent views over the loch to Bruichladdich, and convenient for shops, restaurants, hotels, bike hire, swimming pool, the Gaelic language and heritage centre, and of course, the legendary Bowmore distillery. Bowmore is the ideal base for exploring Islay, and for enjoying the many leisure pursuits offered by this beautiful island.
The house has been recently decorated and provides three bedrooms, sleeping up to seven, bathroom with shower and bath, spacious lounge and a large dining kitchen. There is full central heating and an open fire in the lounge. Modern kitchen appliances include dishwasher, electric cooker, microwave, fridge/freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer. There are two TV s, a VCR and a number of children's games and videos. An enclosed garden backs onto the loch with a picnic table and BBQ facilities.
Islay can be reached by car ferry from Kennacraig (approx. two hour crossing) and by plane from Glasgow airport. The house is approximately 15 minutes from either of the island's ferry ports (Port Ellen and Port Askaig) and ten minutes from the airport. Among the wide range of interests and activities which the island offers are: Golf on the Machrie links; trout and salmon fishing; sea fishing; pony trekking; clay pigeon shooting; local pottery; birdwatching; glorious quiet beaches; walking; distillery visits; sites of historic interest; woollen mill.
