Orsa is a semi detached three bedroom house in Hawthorn Lane in the heart of Bowmore, a central location ideal from which to explore the whole island. Bowmore is the administrative capital of the island and and Hawthorn Lane is just of shore street close to all amenities. The village has a lot to offer and is the home of the islands only Tourist Information Centre. All the following amenities are available in the village Leisure Centre, banks, post office, supermarket, shops, bars and restaurants. The property has been recently refurbished and is available to rent throughout the year. Orsa has ample parking and an enclosed garden to the rear of the property with garden furniture and a barbecue available.

The ground floor accommodation comprises of a dining kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, fridge/freezer and washer/dryer, a bathroom with over bath shower, sitting room and twin bedroom. Upstairs is one king and one twin bedded room with a travel cot available (bedding not supplied for cot). The property is double glazed throughout and is heated with electric storage heaters. Islay is the southern most of the inner herbrides and benefits from sitting in the gulf stream. The island boasts nine distilleries and is a haven for whisky lovers, cyclists, bird watchers, anglers, walkers and golfers. The administrative capital is the village of Bowmore, which is situated centrally and lies on the shores of Loch Indaal, with a picturesque harbour at the bottom of the main street and a round church at the top. The island also has a wide choice of beautiful beaches, a leisure centre and tennis courts. Islay also has a number of historic sites and situated in Port Charlotte is the Museum of Islay life.

£420 - £700 per week.
Short Breaks in low season £80 per night, minumum three night stay. In High season April to October (limited availability) £100 per night minimum three night stay.
Minimum rental is for seven days Saturday to Saturday. In low season short breaks may be available please contact for further details and availability. A non refundable deposit of 25% is requested and payable within two weeks of booking.The balance is payable by cheque four weeks prior to arrival. Should you cancel your booking within four weeks of your arrival you are liable for the full cost unless we are able to re-let the property.

How to Get Here
By Car: From Glasgow, drive to Kennacraig - this journey should take approximately two and a half hours, or longer should you wish to take in the beautiful scenery. Take the A82 up Loch Lomondside, turning onto the A83 at Tarbet - continue on through both Inveraray and Lochgilphead towards Tarbert on Loch Fyne. The ferry port of Kennacraig is just five miles on from Tarbert. Please note that Kennacraig is simply a ferry terminal and not a town or village. It is clearly signposted on the Campbeltown road, but people have been known to miss it because they were expecting more.

By Ferry: Caledonian MacBrayne operate the two hour crossing which runs twice daily throughout the year, once on Sundays, with additional sailings during the summer season. By Air: Loganair operates a 35 minute scheduled service, Monday - Sunday from Glasgow Airport to Islay, in the mornings and afternoons on.
