LOCHVIEW is situated in Bowmore on the Isle of Islay and offers self catering accommodation.

There are three double bedrooms (one ensuite shower) and a family bathroom. Upstairs provides panoramic views of Loch Indaal and beyond. From the comfortable lounge, dining area and kitchen, breathtaking views can be enjoyed. A balcony off the lounge and the garden provide ideal places for a wee dram whilst soaking up the magic of Islay.

In Bowmore there are stunning views across Loch Indaal to Bruichladdich and the Paps of Jura, Lochview is an idyllic location, directly on the lochside. The accommodation has been designed to take advantage of this spectacular location.

This property is ideal for walkers and cyclists. With a central location on the island, which is famous for its numerous whisky distilleries, Islay is a beautiful island with a dozen beaches, several historical sites and not too many tourists. Leisure facilities include a swimming pool in Bowmore, tennis courts in Port Ellen, a golf course at Machrie and diving around some of the many local wrecks.

How to Get Here

By Car: From Glasgow, drive to Kennacraig - this journey should take approximately two and a half hours, or longer should you wish to take in the beautiful scenery. Take the A82 up Loch Lomondside, turning onto the A83 at Tarbet - continue on through both Inveraray and Lochgilphead towards Tarbert on Loch Fyne. The ferry port of Kennacraig is just five miles on from Tarbert. Please note that Kennacraig is simply a ferry terminal and not a town or village. It is clearly signposted on the Campbeltown road, but people have been known to miss it because they were expecting more.

By Ferry: Caledonian MacBrayne operate the two hour crossing which runs twice daily throughout the year, once on Sundays, with additional sailings during the summer season. By Air: Loganair run a 35 minute scheduled service, via Flybe: Monday - Saturday from Glasgow Airport to Islay, in the morning and afternoon, as well as an afternoon flight on Sunday.
