Mactaggart Leisure Centre The Mactaggart Leisure Centre is a community owned and run business which has won four nationally recognised awards. It comprises a 25 metre swimming pool, fitness studio, sauna, tancab, launderette, multi purpose activity room and sports kiosk. The building is open Tuesday through Saturday and operates a range of activities to suit every need.

Islay Natural History Trust The Field Centre in Port Charlotte features comprehensive information on Islay's wildlife and birdlife, and holds activities days for the kids throughout the season from Easter to late September

Pony Trekking There are two trekking centres on Islay, one at Ballivicar Farm near Port Ellen, and at Rockside Trekking Centre on Rockside Farm near Kilchoman (coincidentally on the same site as the new Kilchoman Distillery)

Bridgend Bowling Green Just opposite the Bridgend Hotel and adjacent to Bridgend Stores, Bridgend Bowling Green is open throughout the summer season and welcomes visitors

Fishing Islay Estates, Dunlossit Estate and Laggan Estate all offer loch and river fishing for salmon and brown trout. Islay was venue for the European Fishing Championships in September 2003 and there is excellent fishing to be had. Contact the estates directly.
