The October Update
The Opening Concert will be held on Friday 7th October 05 at 7.30pm in St Columba Church Hall St Vincent Street.
Kirsteen Grant will preside, and the Glasgow Islay Junior Gaelic Choir will provide a variety of entertainment. They will be ably supported by Carolyn Ferguson and Gordon McKeeve with their songs. Norma McDougall will be at the piano.
Come and join us for an evening of songs, embellished with a cuppa at the interval.
The Senior Citizen’s Dinner held on Saturday 3rd September was very pleasant evening. The members enjoyed a meal provided by “ Flora” and her team, and a refreshment or two from the committee members.
The main entertainers were singer Andrew McCowan, and Violinist John McMillan. They were accompanied by Norma at the piano, and they had our feet tapping.
Among the others who entertained were Gordon Caskie, Dougie Gillespie, and myself.
The company had time to chat, and catch up with friends.
Bessie MacDonald and her carer Mandy travelled from an East Kilbride Nursing Home for the evening, and I am certain she enjoyed herself

Stornoway Mod 14th to 22nd October 2005
We wish all the Ileachs who are taking part every success, and hope in particular, that Andrew McCowan does well. We are looking forward to meeting many friends in Stornoway, and please come and introduce yourself.
