THE OPENING CONCERT AT PARTICKBURGH LESSER HALL
FRIDAY 3RD OCTOBER 2008.

This is our annual concert with the entertainment provided by The Glasgow Islay Junior Choir and guests before they head for The Mod in Falkirk. The choir were ably conducted by Jane McQueen and from within the choir we had soloists, duets, highland dancers, clarsach playing, and bagpiping. The adult guest singers were Fiona Ray and Gordon McKeeve, who are well known in the gaelic circle. Fiona is a member of The Glasgow Islay Senior Choir and Gordon is a member of The Glasgow Gaelic Music Association Choir. Our accompanist for the evening was Norma McDougall and the evening was chaired by our president Peter Campbell. This was a much enjoyed evening’s entertainment with tea, coffee and snacks at the interval. Well done to everyone who came along and thanks to GIA committee members for their hard work to make this a successful night.
