The GIA opening Concert

The opening Concert was held in St Columba Hall on Friday 1st October. The President was introduced and he ‘chaired’ the evening.
The concert opened with a rousing selection played on the pipes by Pipe Major Andrew McCowan. This was followed by the first of three spots, by The Glasgow Islay Junior Gaelic Choir, conducted by Jane McQueen. During the concert eight members entertained us with songs, poem and instruments. These members were, Meg Buchanan, Alison Campbell, Fraser Munro, Eilidh Munro, Catriona McNeil, Alison Buchanan, Alistair Hanby, and Clare Campbell.
