Welcome to Cladville Dairy, set in a unique position atop Cladville Hill, on a working croft in the Rhinns of Islay

The south facing Dairy enjoys spectacular panoramic views over Portnahaven including the Rhinns Lighthouse, the Irish Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. On clear days, the coast of County Antrim, Northern Ireland, serves as a dramatic backdrop to the busy seaway - binoculars essential!

Cladville is farmed in a traditional way, respecting and nurturing the flora and fauna of Islay. You may well see buzzard, hen harrier, chough or conrncrake, while white fronted geese are annual visitors here. Birdwatching can be enhanced by a visit to the local RSPB Reserve at Gruinart to the north.

Our family business is set in 500 acres of land in which you are most welcome to roam. Islay has miles and miles of dramatic, unspoilt coastline to explore and our night skies are unbeatable on a clear night. Lie on your back and fall into the vast dome of space...

Cladville Dairy lies one and a half miles north of the picturesque fishing village of Portnahaven. Built around a natural harbour and overlooked by the Rhinns Lighthouse, seals doze on the rocks, while the village sports a shop, post office and public house where you can enjoy good food and great whisky from one of Islay's eight malt whisky distilleries.

Cladville Dairy, accommodating four persons comfortably, is double-glazed with oil central heating throughout. Electricity and heating oil are included in the price.

There is a fully-fitted kitchen with washer/dryer, microwave, dishwasher, electric cooker, fridge and indoor airer. There is also a full complement of cooking/baking utensils provided.

The Living/Dining Room is open plan with TV, DVD player, electric log burning stove, a small Library of Islay related books, games, puzzles and large map of Islay

The Master Bedroom contains a double bed in cream wrought iron, made up with white bed linen. Pictures by local artists, and a full length mirror complements the look. Fabulous sea views from the window.

The twin bedroom has twin cream wrought iron beds made up with white bed linen. Pictures by local artists, a full length wall mirror and hairdrier. Again, fabulous sea views from the window.

The bathroom is fully fitted with a white suite, and has an electric heated towel rail and power shower..

There is parking, exclusive to our guests, at the front of the Dairy, and a private seating area for eating al fresco.

Bed linen and one bath towel is provided per guest. Should you wish to go swimming then please bring your own beach towel.

We would appreciate if guests did not smoke in Cladville Dairy as it is family accommodation. And as Cladville is a working croft, we cannot accommodate pets for safety reasons.

The Dairy is let on a weekly basis, from 3pm on Saturday, with departure prior to 10am the following Saturday

Rates are £450 per week. We require a deposit of £100 within fourteen days of booking. We will acknowledge this in writing with the balance due four weeks prior to arrival.
