It is ideally located for most outdoor pursuits especially bird watching, fishing, pony trekking, cycling and unspoilt sandy beaches.

How to get here

BY AIR
Flybe flies twice daily (Sundays once) to & from Glasgow Airport to Islay.

BY SEA
Ferries three times daily in summer (except Wednesday & Sunday when there is one sailing) to and from Kennacraig to Islay. Driving time from Glasgow to Kennacraig is approximately three hours.The ferry is operated by CalMac and takes two hours.

Travel Information on Islay
From Port Askaig or Port Ellen head for Bridgend. At Bridgend take the A847 signposted to Port Charlotte & Portnahaven. After approx six miles turn right at farm & small bridge (B8017) following brown tourist sign to RSPB. Keep going on this road past the RSPB visitors centre until you reach a T junction overlooking Loch Gorm (approx five miles). Turn right follow road for half mile and look for sign to Carnduncan on the right. Up to the top of the private road, take the right hand fork. You will see Farmhouse Cottage on your left.
