
Byre Cottage has been sympathetically converted into a holiday cottage of a high standard. Situated at Carnduncan overlooking Loch Gorm, the cottage is in an area of outstanding natural beauty. It is ideally located for most outdoor pursuits especially bird watching, fishing, pony trekking, cycling and unspoilt sandy beaches.

We have furnished and equipped the cottage with your home comforts in mind. The accommodation is on two floors with the double bedroom is on the ground floor. The kitchen has a washing machine, cooker, microwave, fridge with freezer compartment, toaster, iron,together with crockery, cutlery and utensils.
The comfortable, lofty lounge has been tastefully restored with sofas, easy chair, colour TV, DVD, video recorder, books and a dining table to seat four. The cosy, beamed bedrooms have built in wardrobes, plenty of storage space, chest of drawers, dressing table (double bedroom) and there is a bright shower room with wc.
Islay
Islay, 'Queen of the Hebrides' is a beautiful tranquil island situated off the west coast of Scotland and enjoys a milder climate due to the effect of the gulf stream.

How to get here
BY AIR
Flybe flies twice daily (Sundays once) to & from Glasgow Airport to Islay.

BY SEA
Ferries three times daily in summer (except Wednesday & Sunday
when there is one sailing) to and from Kennacraig to Islay.
Driving time from Glasgow to Kennacraig is approximately three hours.The ferry
is operated by CalMac and takes two hours.

Travel Information on Islay
From Port Askaig or Port Ellen head for Bridgend. At Bridgend take the A847 signposted to Port Charlotte & Portnahaven. After approx six miles turn right at farm & small bridge (B8017) following brown tourist sign to RSPB. Keep going on this road past the RSPB visitors centre until you reach a T junction overlooking Loch Gorm (approx five miles). Turn right follow road for half mile and look for sign to Carnduncan on the right. Up to the top of the private road, take the left hand fork until you can go no further and you have arrived at Byre Cottage!
