Benview Holiday Cottage

Benview holiday cottage is situated in the picturesque conservation village of Port Charlotte on the shores of Loch Indaal in the Rhinns of Islay.

Benview is a semi detached traditional stone built cottage that has been in the family since the 1930s. It has recently had a major renovation and refurbishment making it a beautiful welcoming and comfortable two bedroom cottage.

Whatever your reason for visiting Islay, may it be visiting one of the eight famous distilleries, walking the many fantastic beaches, horse riding, swimming, fishing, shooting or taking in a guided walk, or even just recharging and chilling out, Benview is in an ideal location situated just a 20 minute drive from the ferry port of Port Askaig and a 40 minute drive from Port Ellen ferry port.

Accommodation

Benview sleeps up to six people. It is fully furnished with all home comforts and has central heating. The accommodation comprises:
Lounge: Two comfortable sofas one of which is a double sofa bed, flat screen TV, DVD player, cd/radio.
Double Bedroom: Pine double bed, built in wardrobe, bedside chest of drawers
Twin Bedroom: Two single beds, built in wardrobe, bedside chest of drawers. All duvets and pillows provided have anti allergy fillings
Bathroom: fully fitted bath with shower and heated towel rail
Kitchen; is modern and thoughtfully equipped with all electric fitments, hob, oven, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dishwasher. There is also a dining area with table and chairs. Large garden with drying area and picnic table.

Once you arrive you can relax with a cuppa from the complimentary tea and coffee, we also provide the first pint of milk.

About the area

Once you have settled in you can explore the village of Port Charlotte. It has a beautiful sandy beach, and working lighthouse that has appeared in many a photo. There are two local hotels both with restaurants and bars where you can sample the local malts, live music is also featured on selective dates. The landlord of the Loch Indaal Hotel has an impressive collection of rare malt whiskies. There are also two further places to eat in Port Charlotte which are situated at either end of the village.

Tariff

Prices are per week, normally running from 3pm on Saturday to11am on the following Saturday. Out of season the cottage can be booked for a minimum of two days. Prices by arrangement.
November, December, January, February and March £325
April, May and June £425

The price includes all linen, towels (except beach towels), and electricity. All pets are extremely welcome, but please do not allow them on the furniture.

No smoking throughout the house please.

In order to secure your booking, a deposit of £150 is required. The balance is due six weeks prior to arrival. If the booking is cancelled after the balance has been paid, it will only be refunded if the cottage can be re-let. If the booking is made less than six weeks in advance, the total weekly tariff is payable at the time of booking.
